Lipstick & Knitting

I am a huge fan of the Collection 2000 concealer as I'm sure most of you are, it's great, it works so well with the bags under my eyes and any blemishes I get from time to time. Lately I have been suffering from break outs for the first time in years, finally I have found the source of the problem and now it's all fine and dandy. So after using their concealer what else did Collection 2000 have to offer, I love trying out new colours so I picked up a few a couple of months back, at a steal £2.99.

This shade has been my day to day look, it's not long lasting but considering the price I would expect miracles. They often have 2 for £5 offers on Collection 2000 in Superdrug so keep your eyes peeled.

My Blue Rinse.

The story of my collection.

This week I have been working hard putting the finishing touches to my collection. Expanding the range of products and designing the labels. I have been having so much fun doing it and I have had such a great response from you guys it has been truly overwhelming, so thank you :)

Yesterday I released my first ever giveaway and you lovely knitters have been loving it!

I have changed my layout slightly and I'm really happy with it now I even made my very own button.

This week I have also been getting some great responses from companies sending me lovely gifts to review on my blog so I shall be bringing you some wonderful organic & fairtrade reviews very soon. 

I have also been invited to attend the Natural & Organic Show in London in April, I was thrilled when I was asked to attend and was sent my press passes. It is a trade show only so I will be able to find out all the up and coming products in the the Organic & Fairtrade world from beauty to food. I don't know if you can tell but I'm a tad excited!!

One Day.

Bernard Blue.

A story of my friend Bernard.

So today I had a pretty lazy day, I decided I would watch a movie and relax, while Henry went out to play with his friends.

After reading the book One Day way over a year ago I was still in awe of its beauty and captivating story. I became to know these characters well. They became apart of me, I was so wrapped up I was a none responsive zombie lost in the lives of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew for all of 48 hours (I worked full time back then too) Since, I have lost myself again and again. When I first heard they were making a movie I might have been a little excited, then I heard that the Emma would be played by Anne Hathaway, I felt as though this would be an injustice to my now dear friend. I wanted nothing more but to NEVER catch so much as a glimpse of this film. Months passed and I heard a few reviews, good and some bad. I felt a certain obligation as a true fan of this book to simply give it a go. This afternoon with the house all to myself, knowing I would most probably cry my little eyes out, I settled into One Day. The film wasn't all bad! Personally I wouldn't have cast Anne Hathaway at all, I felt with it being a British film a move deserving up and coming BRITISH actress could have portrayed Emma a lot better. Having said that the actor playing Dexter did capture him well. And yes I did cry, a lot! Films have that effect on me I'm afraid to say.
What I am trying to say is read the book, don't cop out and simply watch the film, experience this beautiful and heartbreaking love story the way David Nicholls intended it to be told.


During my many outbursts of tears I designed this little fellow. I thought I would branch out on my first collection and create even more accessories. This is just a prototype but I thought you guys should be the first to see it. This evening we popped out to our friend Mike for dinner, It was nice to see the boys cooking for a change while I relaxed and worked hard on perfecting these cute little bunnies. 

Tomorrow I will be posting a little teaser of my collection so far, oh and I have also got some great things in the pipeline for Blue Rinse!!

Random HAUL.

Today's HAUL! 

A story of my shopping adventures.

So today we had a busy day trying to sort out help with housing, not sure anything will come of it at all, so it's time to save save save now. So we decided to have one last blow out before saving, aren't we naughty, so here is just a collection of the quirky items we purchases today on our VERY windy day out!

 As you may know I LOVE knitting and I am currently working on the My Blue Rinse Collection, which is due to be released in late March. It will be quirky knitted accessories created and designed by me. 

I love using the best materials and this GGH yarn is to die for. I have used so many of their ranges in my collection, the ones I purchased today are so fine and delicate I can't wait to get going, made of 70% Super Kid Mohair, and 25% a combination of New Wool and Nylon they truly are luxury.

 {keep your eyes peeled for my DIY knitted post using GGH yarn, it's going to be a VLOG!! Yes that's right me on video knitting how scary}

Secondly I was in need of some new PJs and where better than Primark, I am one of their biggest fans I swear. It is the best place on the High Street for disposable fashion, although I found a dress in my local store a few weeks ago and was disappointed to find there was only a size 12 left, I have unfortunately been blessed with rather a large chest, such a nightmare sometimes. Also I managed to pick Henry up some rather delightful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle PJ's, I had left it far too late before Christmas and by the time I got round to buying them they were all gone, so Happy Belated Christmas Henry!! HE LOVED THEM!!

 I also thought it was about time I rejoined the local library, I was looking for ONE book imparticular The Fault in our Stars by John Green but with it being a NEW release they didn't have it. I follow Gemsmaquillage religiously, she has some of the best Blog posts and a wonderful Beauty Vlog, but on one of her many Vlog channel's she introduced me to John Green, so I thought I would give one of his books a whirl I'll be sure to let you know what I think in a week or so.

I also picked up some Knitting books.

All in all we had a really nice day out, even though I was determined to stay in bed, I'm glad Henry forced me out of the house!

So tomorrow I will be filming my VLOG arrrghh so watch this space,

Bow Madness.

Another story about bows.

I love staying at Martha's (not only is she Henry's sister but she's a really good friend of mine) We have wonderful days out and we always go thrifting (first picture of me without my dreadys :( still have some sneaky ones at the back) We stay two nights a week in their beautiful cottage, which they are currently renovating IT IS AMAZING!  We pretty much eat, drink tea, watch Henry on Video Games and knit, in Laurie Land I would be doing this everyday if I could.

So enough about my life story, here is the new edition to my collection, these teeny tiny olive green bows measure 5cm in length, I'm planning on putting them on bobby pins and hair elastics.

I also had a successful day thrifting in Ellesmere. 

My New Leather Sewing Case 40p.

Beautifully thin and frizzy wool and teeny needles to work with roughly about 50p for both, had such an amazing day, the quaint town of Ellesmere in situated in Shropshire, I love it! Filled with locally produced butchers to an array of inviting charity shops, I was in my element. The picturesque houses are ultimate chocolate box, thatched roofs to Georgian terraces. Sash blooming windows EVERYWHERE!  (the small things in life eh?)

So this evening I have been giving a knitting lesson to Martha, just how to cast off but it was so much fun, we spent hours sat while the boys played video games. 

I have been taking orders this week, so if you have a favourite colour, wool type or size preference, just let me know I'm happy to try it all!!

Hey Guys & Gals, 

Well haven't I had a productive day, well, Henry & I had a lazy morning, which is becoming a little bit of a habit, since neither of us are working at the minute, no news on the job, but I haven't lost hope just yet. I decided to expand my creations of knitted flowers into knitted bows, with no pattern to follow I went in blind. And I must say didn't do too bad for a first attempt.

I must say I'm rather impressed.

Tomorrow is Sunday and Henry is performing at an open mic night at Telford Warehouse in Chester, I can't wait to see him finally play and I also can't wait to give my new vintage (thrift) dress it's very first outting, all in all this weekend is shaping up to be a good one, lazy but good.

p.s Field Commander Listen to Henry, he's pretty good.

Hand Knitted Pins.

A story of my small creations.

Over the last few weeks I have been creating small knitted accessories for coats, bags, hats the list is endless. I can create them into hair elastics, headbands, corsages or hair slides. But if you have any other ideas, I would be happy to do them for you. So I thought I would share with you guys what I have been up to. 

They are really easy and fun to make and the possibilities are endless. I have quite literally gone flower mad. It's addictive.

I'm planning on selling them on ebay, I just wanted some feed back first .
