want, need, wear, read | Sleep edition BLACK FRIDAY DISCOUNTS

I recently read an article on the Huffington Post about the eight things you should know about Fibromyalgia and sleep. It was really interesting to find a little bit more about how my sleep is actually affected. Being pregnant obviously doesn't currently help the situation and I don't see it getting any better once the baby is born. But for the last nine years I have had sleep deprivation of some kind so the new Mum role should be a breeze - she says apprehensively.

In the past I've been able to use sleeping aids such as short term sleeping tablets or muscle relaxants but even herbal remedies aren't safe in pregnancy. So where does that leave us poor sleep-deprived Fibro suffers who now need to pee every five minutes and have constant heartburn as soon as we lie flat. Well unfortunately there aren't that many options but I've put together a few items that I find help make a difference.

I have an evening routine that I try to stick to most evenings. Thing that helps prepare my body and mind for sleep.

Bath
First things first ladies if you're not one for baths now's the time to start getting into them. I have always preferred taking a bath, especially in the winter. So now is the perfect time to treat yourself to a lovely bath soak that will help relax your muscles. My bathroom is full of bath oils and soaks and I have a range of products. Some high-end luxurious oils to high-street bubble baths. Before I found out I was pregnant I was taking magnesium flake baths each evening but was advised against them by my midwife. I stumbled across this Oat Milk Tea by Fig + Yarrow on the Folklore website a few weeks ago and have been dying to try it ever since. It says it's meant to relieve dry, itchy skin which is a common complaint for people with Fibromyalgia. It's pretty much a bath style giant tea bag which when steeped in water calms you both mentally and physically.

Bed
Nothing beats comfy nightwear after a long day and just recently I've been opting for a nightdress over a pair of PJ bottoms. I have found it almost impossible to find maternity nightwear that is comfortable and affordable. Until I stumbled across the wonderful products on offer from Amoralia. They specialise in luxurious well made maternity wear for the conscious mothers-to-be out there. I was instantly drawn to this Lace Trim Nightie. Mine arrived a few days ago and the quality is like nothing I've worn before. I am really tempted to keep it for my hospital bag because it seems to nice for day to day wear but I'll soon give in. It's just sitting there staring at me as we speak. As tomorrow is Black Friday you can get a whopping 30% off all purchases on the Amoralia website so why not either treat yourself or someone you know to a little bit of luxury. Read
After years of avoiding a Kindle at all cost, I've recently warmed to the idea. Now spending most of my evenings buried in a good book, it would be great to have them all in one place that I can take with me wherever I go. I have always found reading before bed helps me unwind and having something lightweight like the Kindle Paperwhite makes it possible to read at anytime, even if I'm having a flare up. Over at Argos you can currently save £20 on the New Kindle Paperwhite and Amazon have huge savings on the Kindle Fire.

Sleep
After reading a recent review on the This Works Pillow Spray I am already convinced I will sleep like a baby. In the past I have used a few drops of lavender on my pillow but got out of that habit in my first trimester as it can be dangerous. It's a simple idea and is a little bit pricey but I recently splashed out on some new pillows so it would be lovely to add this to my routine. You can pick this up over on ASOS from tomorrow until the 2nd of Decmeber and get 20% off all items. Use CODE CYBERWKND20 at checkout.
